Changes Flight to Lukla

For anyone who is traveling to Everest region of Nepal this Autumn and Spring busy season, here is a flight change in your itinerary and flight schedule! Due to heavy air traffic in Kathmandu morning time and also some construction work going on in the Tribhuwan International Airport, its operation will shut down from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. for three months starting 1st September, 2019. Generally, the flight to Lukla takes off early in the morning. Flight to Lukla is one of the most occupied flights during the trekking season in Nepal as it is one and only mode to reach Everest region for trekking or peak climbing to Everest Region, Mera peak and Lower Solukhumbu.

Flight operates from Manthali Airport.

Manthali Airport is a domestic airport located in Ramechhap District, Nepal. It serves as an alternative airport for domestic flights to Lukla Airport, especially during adverse weather conditions when flights to Lukla may be disrupted. Manthali Airport is situated about 132 kilometers east of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It primarily facilitates flights to and from Lukla, which is a popular gateway for trekkers and climbers heading to the Everest region.

If there is changes unless you chose a walking route to Everest through Jiri. Considering this fact, the authority of Tribhuwan International Airport has instructed the operators of domestic airlines to conduct morning flights to Lukla from Manthali airport in Ramechhap until the shutdown of airport continues starting 25th March, 2024.

The chief of Tribhuwan International Airport, Raj Kumar Chhetri has informed that some airlines have already prepared for their morning flights to Lukla via Ramechhap while the others are preparing for shifting their flights since 2019. If you have already booked a trek to Everest region within the period above mentioned, make sure that you are prepared for a flight to Lukla via Ramechhap (Manthali airport) instead of Kathmandu.

There also option go to direct flight to Lukla from Kathmandu if you like to do best option is take Helicopter that will be your best choice but you have to clear there one way Helicopter cost is $2,500 if you are group no problem but if not beg group you can may join with other people need any cooperation
