Pikey Peak Dudhkunda Lake Trek

The Pikey Peak Dudhkunda Lake Trek is 4,600 meters from sea level . Ideas for an “Off the Beaten Path” kind of trek around Dudh Kunda Lake in the Pikey Peak area. At 4065 meters, Pikey Peak offers a breathtaking sweeping view of the majority of the Nepal Himalayan Range, spanning from the Kanchenjunga massive in the east to Dhaulagiri in the west. Among them are Annapurna, Nuptse, Shishapangma, Thamserku, Lhotse Shar, Lhotse Shar south face, Numbur, Khatang, Karyalung, and Mera Peak.

Dudhkunda Pikey Trek is the long time commitments and high altitude trekking that many other treks require are not necessary for this breathtaking Himalayan Mountain View, which is easily accessible. According to reports, Sir Edmond Hillary declared the view to be one of his favorites in Nepal. The colors of sunrises and sunsets are amazing.

Combining the Pikey Dudhkunda Lake Trek, also known as “Milky Lake,” HOMI TSHO Sherpa language which is a Holy place for visitors enhances the appeal of the journey and gives the chance to get closer to the Himal. These beautiful trees grow to be significantly taller than in many other nations; one species is the Lali Guras, Nepal’s national flower. They can cover the hillsides and grow up to 15 meters in height. It is a sight to behold, truly beautiful.

Pikey Peak Dudhkunda Lake Trek Permits:

Like most treks in Nepal, you’ll need the necessary permits to undertake the Dhudhkunda Lake Trek. These typically include the TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System)

Best Time to Trek: The best time to undertake the Dudhkunda Lake Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is clear, and the views are spectacular. Before embarking on the trek, it’s essential to make proper preparations, including physical conditioning, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring you have the right gear and equipment. Additionally, it’s advisable to trek with a licensed guide or through a reputable trekking agency for safety and support along the journey.

Itinerary


Day 01 Arrival or meeting in Kathmandu

Arrival or meeting in Kathmandu and trip briefing about trek by trip leader. 

 

Day 02 Drive to Dhap

Drive to Dhap from Kathmandu and overnight in Dhap small village where you start your wonderful journey for Pikey Dudhkunda lake trek.  

 

Day 03 Trek to jhapre

Early morning sunrise view from  Dhap like mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Kanchenjunga, Pikey, Karyalung, Numbur and many more. After breakfast, we trek to Japre and overnight there in the Japre guest house.

 

Day 04 Trek to Pikey Base Camp

Trek to Pikey Base camp all the way to Pikey trail and overnight in Pikey Base Camp. 

 

Day 05 Trek to Junbesi

Early morning climbing to Pikey peak and trek to Junbesi Sherpa village and overnight at Junbesi. Junbesi is the main way of mount Everest Base camp trek if you are going from Jiri.  

 

Day 06 Trek to Ringmu Village.

Early morning explore to Thupten Choling monastery and after that trek to Ringmu for Dudh Kunda trek. You also can go directly to Kamudanda but bitween there is no guest house. That’s why we have to go through Ringmu village. 

 

Day 07 Trek to Kamu Danda

Trek to Kamu Danda from Ringmu takes 4-5 hours and trek through the ridge of Taksindu valley. from this place you can see many mountains from the closeup and valley like Taksindu, Jubhing, Kharikhola, Pangoma.   

Day 08 Trek to Saharsa Beni

Trek to Saharsha Beni where you can explore many many villages and mountain views. This is also called dudhkunda base camp.  

Day 09 Trek to Dudhkunda lake and back to Kamudanda

Trek to Dudhkunda lake and back to Kamudanda. Early morning explore to Dudh Kunda lake and after that trek back to Kamudanda.  

Day 10 Trek back to Ringmu and drive back to Salleri

Trek back to Ringmu and drive back to Salleri If you have plans for Everest trek then you can keep continuing for Everest trek from the Taksindu-Kharikhola-Lukla. Otherwise, drive to Salleri.   

Day 11 Drive or Flight back to Kathmandu

Drive or flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 12 Departure to home

Flight back to home or your own destination for your next adventure.
