Lhotse Expedition

Mount Lhotse Expedition is great mountain peak in the world which is very famous mount Everest neighbor mountain also an awesome thrilling of great fascination climb Mt. Lhotse Expedition, one of the most technical climbs in all Himalayan range of mountains. Mount Lhotse Located around Khumbu region of Latitude 27 57 45 and Longitude 86 56 03, which one of the nearest adjoining mountains with Mt. Everest the climb of Lhotse Expedition with few possible routes to Mt. Lhotse from Imjatse valley near Dingboche and Chukkung settlements which is a tough technical route of the sheer vertical climb.

The other main route is from Everest Base Camp and Khumbu Ice Falls which is widely used for the climb of Mt. Lhotse, as the climb is similar all the way to South Col, where the route diverts eastward to Mt. Lhotse.

Mt. Lhotse stands as world 4th highest peak at 8,516 meters high with Mt. Nuptse adjoining high jagged ridges which runs like a wall to the south-west of Everest. Lhotse the mountain also links with its sister peaks Lhotse Shar on the eastern side which listed as part of Lhotse of above 8,000 meters high.

Lhotse Expedition

Our adventure starts from Lukla after a short flight from Kathmandu and then following Dudh Kosi River for some days with the uphill climb to reach at the famous colorful town or a large Namche Bazaar a prosperous place where Saturday market is held every week.

From Namche after acclimatization days heading past beautiful Tengboche monastery with a tremendous panorama of high peaks of Everest-Lhotse including majestic Amadablam with adjoining smaller peaks, from here leaving the lush green forest area for barren and arid arctic temperature to reach Everest and also Lhotse base camp where our actual adventure begins.

After much practice and preparations heading high tackling Khumbu Ice Fall to reach South Col; then our route diverts eastward for an arduous and technical climb on top of Mt. Lhotse and then return safely back to base camp after an adventure of a lifetime experience.

Slow and steady walks bring you back at Lukla via Namche and Monjo villages; for short scenic flight to Kathmandu after a great exciting and incredible adventure on Mt. Lhotse Expeditions with great support and guidance by Great Panorama Treks and its team of expert staff and guides.

 


Additional Information

  • Preparation: Due to the extreme altitude, climbers need thorough acclimatization. High-altitude training and experience with technical climbing are essential.
  • Permits: Climbing permits are required, issued by the Nepalese government. It’s advisable to organize expeditions through registered guiding companies.
  • Season: The best time to climb Lhotse is during the pre-monsoon (April-May) and post-monsoon (September-October) seasons, when the weather is relatively stable.

Historical Highlights:

  • 1986: The first successful winter ascent was made by Krzysztof Wielicki from Poland on December 31.
  • 1990s: Several notable expeditions, including a solo climb by Italian climber Simone Moro in 1996.
  • 2001: Lhotse Middle was finally summited, marking a significant achievement in high-altitude mountaineering.

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu airport, meet our staff then transfer to Hotel.
Day 2 Free day in Kathmandu, Preparation for Expedition.
Day 3 Official work for expedition & briefing at Ministry of Tourism.
Day 4 Flight Kathmandu to Lukla, 30 min stay at Lukla.
Day 5 Trek to Phakding.
Day 6 Trek to Namche Bazaar.
Day 7 Namche Rest day.
Day 8 Trek to Tengbuche.
Day 9 Trek to Dingbuche.
Day 10 Acclimatization day.
Day 11 Trek to Labuche.
Day 12 Trek to Goraksep.
Day 13 Trek to Everest Base Camp.
Day 14-36 Climbing period.
Day 37 Cleaning up Base Camp and backpack.
Day 38 Trek back to Pheriche (4,343m).
Day 39 Pheriche – Tengboche (3,837m).
Day 40 Tengboche – Namche Bazaar (3,440m).
Day 41 Namche Bazaar – Lukla and transfer to Teahouse Lodge.
Day 42 Flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 43 Free day in Kathmandu.
Day 44 Last minute, transfer to airport for your onward journey.

Trip Includes
