Everest Three pass Trek

Base Camp trek, a famous trekking journey to the base of world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest (8848 m); a great chance to capture photos, videos of great scenery and discover the Sherpa culture. The adventure takes you through challenging terrain that includes a steep climb up Kala Patthar ( Black stone) and glacial moraines where the underline really goes into overdrive. Well, as you hike up to the camp expecting 3-4 hours of hiking every day, be prepared for some long days hike on the return journey. A reasonable level of fitness is required to get immersed in the wonder of the Great Everest Himalayas.

Everest Three Passes Trek

After exploring the exotic historical city of Kathmandu, we take a short flight to the remote hillside village of Lukla (2800 m); and begin our trek into the Khumbu region of the Himalayas. The views of the Himalayan mountains from Lukla on a clear day are wondrous. As we move further through eye-catching vegetation and the dazzling mix of Sagarmatha National Park; we trek to the Sherpa ‘capital’ of Namche Bazaar (3,500 m), a gateway to Himalaya.

Even though it is placed at higher altitude in such isolated or remote outpost; amazingly the bazaar is bustling, interesting, and very friendly town. The beautiful mountains surrounding Namche surely remind you how fortunate you are to be in the Himalayas. Nothing can beat the thrill of seeing the grace of the mighty mountain up that close. Furthermore, the Namche Bazaar was formally a trading post between Nepal and Tibet.

Allow a day’s acclimatization hereabouts and then move on to the beautiful high altitude Buddhist monasteries Thyangboche Monastery. The route further followed up by walk up and down past winding paths, through green farmlands, and white rivers. The trek from Thyangboche conquer slowly but steadily to Dingboche, Lobuche and finally to Gorek Shep; advancing above the tree-line and frozen lake bed covered with sand or rugged surroundings. Gorek Shep, at 5100 m is, in fact, the highest point that we will lodge. At this pleasant landmark, we find ourselves amongst the prayer flags, Mani walls & that whisper ode of prayers to the gods for the souls departed and chortens.

We take our time to reach this altitude after getting well acclimatized. We leave our packs at Gorak Shep, make an afternoon incursion to awe-inspiring Everest Base Camp and pass through amazing glacial forms and enjoy the triumph made it all the way to Lobuche. Then we soon realize we are in the shadows of the magnificent Ama Dablam and Mount Everest massif, where the views are breathtakingly astonishing. The trek to Everest Base Camp continues to be one of our most pleasing journeys. By the end of the trek, you will have enormous memories – images and experiences in your head and photographs that will last forever.
