Island Peak Climbing

Climbing Gears For Island Peak

You will be carrying all of your gear and share some of the cluster gear. Keeping your pack light is important, so choose light-weight clothing and equipment. Be sure to have a range of clothing suitable for all conditions. Sudden change of weather may require layering of clothing. Three layers will meet your needs. Avoid cotton or fabrics that do not maintain heat cold. Comfortable durable wool or  proven fabrics that breathe and expel sweat lends itself to an additional pleasant experience.  

We will offer complimentary water and windproof duffle bags that you will use on your trek, the bag carried by porters. Your bags or suitcase leave in hotel with your non trekking requirements at our office or your hotel and you can collect them after you return from your trip.

Itinerary


Day 1 Kathmandu arrival day

Welcome to Kathmandu. The capital of Nepal we will meet you at the airport and transfer you easily to your hotel room. You can explore with your friends and get to know more about the Nepali culture. Evening there we will provide you Nepali culture show with Nepali local food (Welcome Dinner)

Day 2 Kathmandu city tour

We shall meet you at your hotel after breakfast. We will help you climbing gear check and prepare for the trip. We will discuss with you about your trip and make sure that you are ready for your big day ahead. and your tour guide will come to pick you and take to you for Kathmandu city tour.

Day 3 Early morning Mountain flight to Lukla (2,850m) and trek to Phakding (2,660m).

Altitude:2,800/9184 fit (Lukla) and 2,652/8,698ft (Phakding)

Walking distance:8 km (3-4 hours) Flight time:15 minute from Ramechhap drive time:4 Hours and 30 Minutes(Kathmandu to Ramechhap) and then go to the airport . After the short flight to  Lukla, we will start the journey by walking through Chaurikharka village and  descend towards Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail follows the bank of the i river until we reach Phakding. There we will stay for the night at the hotel. You can rest, click photos and enjoy.

Day 4 Trek to Namche

Altitude:3,440/11,283ft

Walking distance:10- 12 km(5-6 hours) We will have our breakfast there before starting our journey again for Namche Bazaar, the biggest Sherpa village in Nepal. We will reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park for a brief permit check and then descend to Dudh Koshi river. Then after some more walking from there we will reach Namche Bazaar With your first glimpse of Mt. Everest.

Day 5 Acclimatizations day at Namche.

On this day we will have our breakfast there. We will spend the day resting and relaxing our body and gain energy for the next day. We can explore Namche bazaar in the afternoon. If you want we can go to the Sherpa museum  to learn about the Sherpa culture and its history. We can also enjoy the view of nature and you can also click photos for memories.

Day 6 Trek to Tengbuche

Altitude: 3,870m/12,684ft Walking distance:10km(6 Hours) We will take our breakfast in Namche Bazaar and Then start our walk. This time it will be a little bit harder as we will have to go uphill continuously. After the trip we will finally reach our destination Tengboche. Tengboche is a place which is known for being one of the most beautiful places in the Everest region. From there we can also see a breathtaking view of Ama Dablam and many other mountain.

Day 7 Trek to Dingbuche

Altitude:4,400m/14,435ft Walking distance:11km(6 Hours) Our day today. Will start From a walk through the rhododendron forest to Deboche followed by a bridge over the raging Imja khola River. We will pass the Valley wall and then Traverse the plains to Pangboche village. After sometime we will reach Dingboche village.

Day 8 Acclimatization day, Dingbuche

Altitude: 4,400/14,435ft  Today you can rest and gain some energy. You can enjoy the view and if you’re willing to trek to the valleys then you can ask the guide. The optional trek to the valleys will get you many beautiful views and a sense of satisfaction but if not then you can just rest the day and chill out.

Day 9 Trek to Chhukung 4,730

Altitude:4,730m Today we take the right side of the trek. We trek until here the same way to the EBC and now we just take island peak so now less people are on the way. If you want to Everest Base Camp and Island Peak we will go first EBC for acclimatization. Chhukung is a small village . It takes only 2 hours. Today, if you do not have your climbing gear you can get here by rent and check all your climbing gear once.

 

Day 10 Trek to Island Peak Base Camp (5,200m).

Altitude:5,200m/17,060ft Walking distance:5km(3-4 Hours) Today we will have a short hike to Island Peak base Camp. You can enjoy the summit more  if you are not anxious about the Actual climbing. After reaching the base camp you can take some rest as we push for the Summit at midnight.

Day 11 Island Peak Summit, Return to Chhukung

Island Peak(6,189m/20,305ft) Summit and trek to Chhukung walking distance:10km(12-14 Hours) Early morning around 2 o’clock we will; start to climb Island Peak. If you are a good fit we will reach the top at 8 o’clock. Then we will come back to the base camp and after some soups we will continue trekking to Chhukung.

Day 12 Chhukung to Tengboche

Walking distance:14km(12-14 Hours)

We will trek the same way back to Tengboche all the way to Khumbu valley enjoying different mountain views of Ama Dablam, Tabuche, Clolache, Lhotse ,etc.After we reach Tengboche we will rest the night there and then start the next day afresh. You can also take photos of Tengboche Monastery and enjoy taking photos of many Mountains. 

 

Day 13 Tengbuche to Monjo

Trek down to Monjo where you can have good food in Namche. There you can have bakery items and good Coffee, whatever you want. In Monjo you exit Sagarmatha National Park and you will get to Monjo, a good hotel with a hot Shower.

Day 14 Trek back to Lukla

Today is your last night in Himalaya with your trekking crew and tomorrow your porter and others will stay at Lukla and your guide and you fly to Kathmandu after the last Himalayan breakfast. You need to tip some for your porter and crew and for your guide you can give in Kathmandu.

Day 15 Flight back to Manthali

Early morning flight back to Manthali, Ramechhap and after flight you need to drive around 3-4 hrs. to Kathmandu 131 km and overnight at a hotel. Tonight also we will celebrate dinner with Nepali culture show at Kathmandu and last night party dinner in Nepal. 

Day 16 Farewell departure

Farewell departure or your own destination.

  1. This guy- Purinji Sherpa can do anything. Even change the weather to make a scheduled flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. 🙂
    My goal was to climb Island Peak and all the way mountain accommodation in Sagarmatha National Park had the best possible conditions and the best window views.
