Modern yet welcoming city, Pokhara, a complete retreat to you as it offers a mild climate, clean air, beautiful lakes, numerous caves; the tantalizing view of towering Himalayan ranges, mysterious caves and a glimpse of the multi-ethnic culture of Western Nepal. Pokhara tour is one of the exotic tours that overwhelm you with one of the greatest photo spots in the world. Indeed, the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to gushing rivers, lake, thick forests, and of course, the world-famous views of the Himalaya. It’s the gateway to the world-famous treks Annapurna trek. So, most visitors stop at Pokhara before starting or after finishing the Annapurna trekking route.

There are many activities to do in the city like, short hike to Sarangkot which offers the magnificent sight of the sunset, sunrise, and of the whole city beneath. Great Mountain Views

Once you step into Pokhara the first thing that you get to see is a stunning view of the gigantic mountains. It is advised to proceed to the south-east direction of the valley in order to have a clearer view of this peak. However,  Expanding from east to west, the Annapurna chain includes Annapurna 1 to IV and Annapurna South. Although the highest among them is Annapurna 1 (8,091 m), it is Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) which control all others in this neighborhood. At the extreme left isolated from the massif is visible the peak of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m). Furthermore, if you want to see the mountains close up, you can also take a mountain flight from Pokhara that takes you on an Heli sightseeing tour of the western Himalaya.

Devi’s Fall

Locally known as the Hell’s Fall. It is a beautiful waterfall lying 2 km south-west of the Pokhara airport. Legend has it that Devin and David a Swiss couple scrubbed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously abandoned down into an underground passage beneath the fall. The Devi’s fall is stunning but it will only give you a view from the above, you will get the real view from Gupteshwar caves, hence we recommend visiting the caves as well which is 100 m walk from the waterfall.

Phewa Lake

Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in the Kingdom, one of Nepal’s most beautiful spots; and the center of all attraction in Pokhara. The reflections in the water in the early mornings are something you must see at least once before you die. While you walk along the shores of the Fewa lake you will be surrounded by a panoramic view over the Himalayan peaks of the Annapurna Massif that reflect in this lake. Popularly known as Lakeside, is the favorite home base for travelers and is where most of the restaurants, hotels, and handicraft shops are located. Here, one can hire a boat and row yourself across the lake or visit the island temple in its middle.

Mahendra Cave

Another of nature’s wonders in Pokhara is the Mahendra Cave (Gupha). This large limestone cave, locally known as the House of Bats, an apt name for it. It is best to bring your own torch to see the stalagmites and stalactites, as well as the local winged residents. You can take a guide in the caves and they will explain to you all the things. It is not recommended to visit on a rainy day.

Barahi Temple

The Barahi temple, an important monument in Pokhara which is built almost in the center of Phewa Lake. It is dedicated to the boar manifestation of’ Ajima, the protesters’ deity representing- the female force Shakti. Especially on Saturdays Devotees sacrificed male animals and fowl to the deity.

Seti River gorge

Flowing right through the city, the river runs completely underground at places. At certain points, the river appears hardly two meters wide. It is another natural wonder of Pokhara that unfailingly interests visitors. Its depth is quite beyond imagination. Mahendra Pool, a small bridge near the old Mission Hospital; provides a perfect view of the river’s dreadful rush and the deep gorge.

Paragliding in Pokhara 

Paragliding in this Himalayan country can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure-seekers. You can experience unparalleled scenic grandeur, monasteries, temples, lakes, and jungles, with a fantastic view of the majestic Himalayas.

The main area for flying in Pokhara is Sarangkot. Nestled at the foot of the Annapurna Himal  paragliding in Pokhara offers great views of 3 of the worlds 8000 m peaks. The climate of the Pokhara valley makes it an ideal area for flying. Though the season runs from early October to the beginning of May. The popular months for paragliding are November, December, and January, as there super consistent weather during this time.

Itinerary


Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, will meet with Great Panorama Treks and Expedition Representative and transferred to hotel. After reaching hotel you have your program with short briefing by your tour guide.,

Day 2 Drive / fly to Pokhara.

Flight or Drive to Pokhara. It’s an around 6 hours scenic drive along the riverside hilly road and 20 minutes flight. Upon arrival at Pokhara, After lunch we will go for boating on Fewa Lake over night at pokhara hotel.

Day 3 Pokhara.

Pohkara is famous for its lake and its amazing views of the Annapurna range include Annapurna I and VI, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Early morning drive around 30 minute to reach Sarankot from there, you can see the very panoramic view of the mountain, truly a photographers paradise. In Pokhara, you will visit, the Gurung Museum, Devis falls, Tibetan refugee camps, Mahendra Cavé and Barahi Temple etc.

Day 4 Pokhara - Kathmandu.

After Breakfast drive to Kathmandu. It’s a around 6 hours scenic drive along the riverside hilly road. Upon arrival at Kathamandu, check in hotel.

Day 5 Kathmandu – Departure.

Boudha Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Full day Sightseeing evening free time at Thamel, farewell dinner and departure.
